Questions & Answers

Frequently asked questions about rotating unions

What are rotating unions and what are they used for?

Rotating unions are sealed swivel joints for rotating shafts or hoses that perform rotating or swiveling movements. This is always used when a rotation point is under particularly high load and must be cooled by an externally introduced medium or media (air, water, oil, vacuum) must be supplied to switch components, e.g. couplings. Common applications include the paper industry, printing machines, clutches for presses and much more.

Can you customize rotating unions to the customer's specific requirements?
Yes, most applications can be covered with our standard version of the rotating union. For special applications such as confined spaces, aggressive media or special temperature requirements, the material, design dimensions and size can be adapted.
What is the delivery time for rotating unions?

Our standardized rotating unions can be delivered within a few working days. For customized solutions, we strive to keep delivery times as short as possible in consultation with the customer. In urgent cases, we can react immediately to ensure the fastest possible delivery according to the available shipping options.

What materials do we use to manufacture our rotating unions?

Depending on the model, our rotating unions are made of steel, aluminum, brass and bronze. Custom-made products are often adapted due to particularly high loads or the media used and are made from various stainless steels and titanium, for example.

How are our rotating unions manufactured and assembled?

The housings and rotors of our rotating unions are manufactured in-house on state-of-the-art CNC machining centers in compliance with all applicable norms and quality standards and then tested and assembled by specialists.
Seals, bearings and small parts are purchased exclusively from certified companies and processed in our products.

Do you offer spare parts or repairs for your rotating unions?

Yes, our rotating unions have a modular design and damaged or defective parts can be replaced. Repairs can be carried out at our factory or directly at the customer’s premises. We would also like to point out that we cannot accept any liability for repairs carried out by the customer. Our technical service will be happy to assist you at any time.

How are the rotating unions supplied and packaged?

Our rotating unions are coated with a preservative oil and packaged in such a way that they can be shipped by parcel services both at home and abroad. Special packaging for shipping by sea can also be used if required.

Can you provide a catalog or technical data sheet for your rotating unions?

Yes, each individual product page of our rotating unions contains a technical data sheet for download. You can download our entire brochure here or request a free print version using the contact form.

In which industries or application areas are our rotating unions used?

Our rotating unions are used in various industries and media (water, oil, air, emulsions). The most important areas of application are:
1. Paper and textile industry
– Cooling and drying rollers for uniform cooling and effective drying.
2. steel and metal processing
– Cooling and lubrication in rolling mills and processing machines.
3. food and beverage industry
